Bibles and Brews
This young adult Bible study is a time of food, drink, fellowship, and God's Word. As of July 1, 2023: Until further notice, we are suspending meetings.
We normally would meet on Thursday nights at 7pm at The Terminal Brewhouse downtown or Mike’s Tavern in Hixson. Come study the Bible and have a beer or burger! Or both! "Cross of Christ Reads!" Book Club
If you like to read, Cross of Christ Reads! Book Club meets once a month for an evening of fellowship and discussion over that month's literary selection. Any questions, contact Sylvia Hildebrandt at HTexasNatives@gmail.com. Come one, come all!
As of July 27, 2023 "Cross of Christ Reads! Book Club has survived the pandemic and returns to our monthly book gatherings!
The Birthday Club
The Ladies Birthday Club meets bimonthly to celebrate the women whose birthdays fall within the chosen two months. Please check out the monthly newsletter for date and location information.
NOTE: The men of the church meet for lunch simultaneous to the women's party, for food and fellowship.
As of July 1, 2023 and until further notice is given, we are suspending both women and men's gatherings for this particular group.
LWML
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is the women’s auxiliary of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. We act out our faith through local ministerial projects and the gathering of “mites” - small change that we collect, which over the years has totaled to millions of dollars to support mission projects all over the world.
Locally, the Cross of Christ LWML chapter meets for quilting every Tuesday, 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. These quilts are sent around the world in the wake of natural disasters and other great needs.
Any woman in the church is also invited to join our semi-yearly planning meetings. Check the January and August monthly calendars for further details. Also watch our weekly bulletins for LWML events, updates, and in-gatherings. On the first weekend of the month, at both the Saturday and Sunday worship services, we turn in our "Mites".
We are looking for a volunteer to be in charge of our Church newsletter. Our newsletters have the most complete updates for all activities coming up in the daily life of Cross of Christ. If you are a member interested in helping with something like this, please contact the church office for more info. (423-877-7447).
